Morning Sickness Remedies from Ob Gyn Orem

What Can You Do For Morning Sickness?

I am about 2 weeks pregnant and I have really bad morning sickness (that lasts all day). I haven’t been able to eat anything the last couple of days without throwing it up. I’m 15 and even though I’m young, I don’t want to miscarry. Please help! Thanks :)

Morning sickness affects nearly 90% of all women to some degree after conception. The best way to prevent it is to stay well hydrated. This means both water and most importantly electrolytes. Sports drinks are a great solution. Just drink a little at a time throughout the day.

In addition Vitamin B6 100 mg 2x/day, ginger 100mg/day, or other medication could help. I am currently in the process of writing a more extensive article on excessive nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. Look for it in the next month’s issue of Healthy Utah Magazine and on my website.
